BARENDRECHT, August 2, 2011 – Enterprise mobility specialist VeliQ has received an investment of several million Euros from T-Venture, the Venture Capital Company of Deutsche Telekom, for financing the rapid international growth and technical innovations of MobiDM. After several years of autonomous growth, VeliQ successfully acquired extra capital to expand MobiDM and its mobile ecosystem more rapidly, and to support global cooperation with partners such as SAP. MobiDM is an easy to implement business 'Mobility as a Service' solution, for the secure and central management of all mobile devices within organizations.
VeliQ provides a unique 'Mobility as a Service' solution called MobiDM, which makes it possible to securely manage the rapid growing amount of Smartphones, tablets and mobile apps in the enterprise. The MobiDM eco system is partly based on technology of Sybase, a SAP company that delivers market-leading software for Mobile Device Management. VeliQ is a Dutch company with some 35 employees, established in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
"Our mission is to make the management of all mobile devices within companies as simple and secure as possible", says Alex Bausch, the founder and director of VeliQ. "After several years of co-development with Sybase, we have now established a platform which builds on proven technology. This has resulted in faster growth rates, beyond the 100% we achieved until now. In addition, more and more telecom providers and system integrators would like to offer the MobiDM eco system. From the various interested investors, we have chosen T-Venture as MobiDM fits in seamlessly with the 'Managed Services' strategy of T-Systems and Deutsche Telekom and T-Venture has a reliable reputation as long-term strategic investor".
"Through our partnership with VeliQ we complement our portfolio with a comprehensive solution of Mobile Device Management as Software as a Service, a solution that responds to the strongly growing demand from large corporations through its flexibility, attractive conditions and rich feature set", comments Dr. Marcus Hacke, Senior Vice President Portfolio & Solution Design, T-Systems International GmbH.
"MobiDM gives VeliQ a powerful solution for becoming a world player on the managed mobility services market. As a result of T-Venture's investment, this ambition can now be accelerated. VeliQ's decision in favor of T-Venture was motivated in particular by the strong potential for synergy and the good click between the two parties", says Jan Willem Huizingh from Deloitte Corporate Finance, who advised VeliQ in the financing round.
Via an intuitive web interface, MobiDM makes it possible to extensively automate routine management tasks, independently of the platform and devices. This considerably reduces the implementation time of a 'Mobile Device Management' solution and also reduces the total cost of ownership and risks. A fixed monthly fee for each device means that companies no longer need to invest in software, staff and development themselves. MobiDM is a easy to use Software as a Service solution, that can be implemented in some 15 minutes and can be expanded on a flexible basis in line with the company's requirements and Mobility strategy.
VeliQ is already supplying MobiDM in around 10 European countries via telecom providers and system integrators like T-Systems. For the most part, this takes place under another brand name, or as part of a wider package of services. VeliQ recently also concluded a worldwide agreement with Sybase/SAP, as a follow-up to its many years of collaboration with Sybase. Since March of this year, T-Systems is a SAP Global Support Partner and recently won the SAP Pinnacle Award 2011.
